The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency responsible for dealing with information and technologies. The ITU deals with matters of standardization and access to the internet. Delegates will discuss issues such as net neutrality among others.

Topic: Net Neutrality

The UN considers the access to the internet as a human right, but the way this right is exercised is largely determined by the country a person resides in. What international frameworks can be established to increase people’s access to the internet? How, if at all, should countries regulate the internet?

Topic: Smart City Development

As the world becomes more technologically advanced, how can cities adopt this technology to become more efficient and better for the environment? Delegates will have to investigate how to integrate technological developments into large scale projects on the city level.
