The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) deals with all matters relating to the environment. It functions largely as an agenda setting agency and an advocate for the global environment. Dealing with matters of the environment is an inherently global issue that requires a large degree of global coordination. Delegates should be prepared to discuss issues of grave and pressing international concern.

Topic: Plastic Pollution

The use of plastics has made our lives more convenient, but it has also made our planet more polluted. Delegates should expect to discuss marine plastic pollution including the damaging effects of microplastics on marine ecosystems as well as land plastic pollution and the effects of waste dumping on developing nations.

Topic: Emissions

Delegates should also be prepared to discuss how to tackle polluting emissions, particularly from the transportation and agricultural sectors.
