Joanna Wagner, Secretary-General
Joanna Wagner is a junior in the Kilachand Honors College and the Pardee School of Global Studies, where she is majoring in International Relations and minoring in Environmental Analysis and Policy. She has been participating in Model UN since her sophomore year of high school, and this will be her 3rd BosMUN- in previous years she’s chaired the Ministry of Magic (go Hufflepuff), and served as the USG of Crisis for BosMUN XVII. In addition to BUIAA, at BU she's involved with Delta Phi Epsilon, Reproductive Health and Policy Advocates, and BU Terpsichore, and she hopes to someday work in the area of environmental policy and resource allocation. When not working at the Fund for the Public Interest and BU’s Center for Career Development, you can find her planning her life from meal to meal, and tagging her friends in raccoon memes. She is absolutely thrilled and humbled to be serving as the Secretary General for BosMUN XVIII, and is looking forward to creating what she’s sure will be the best BosMUN yet!
taylor cowser, Director-General
Taylor Cowser is a junior at Boston University, majoring in Human Physiology with a minor in Public Health on the pre-med track, and is thrilled to be serving as BosMUN XVIII's Director General. Taylor has been doing Model United Nations since her freshman year of high school, and looked forward to continuing this passion in college. After chairing DISEC her freshman year for BosMUN XVI, Taylor served as the Under Secretary-General of General Assembly committees for BosMUN XVII. Despite her interests in international relations, Taylor spends most of her time working on an ambulance in hopes of reaching her goal of a career in pediatric critical care. When she isn’t doing something BosMUN related, Taylor can be found editing her Google Calendar, watching Friends for the hundredth time, or crying over chemistry. BosMUN and the International Affairs Association have both been an important part of her college experience so far, and she is excited to continue this through her collegiate career. She can't wait to meet everyone in February!
Madison Newell, Conference Affairs Director
Madison Newell is a senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. After graduating, she will be pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology and currently works as a research assistant in the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University. Originally from Chicago, Madison started MUN in 7th grade. Her dream career is establishing a lab that focuses on how socioeconomic status and cultural values impact the trajectory, presentation and treatment of psychopathology in child and adolescent populations. Madison’s experience in Model United Nations made her gravitate towards research that addresses how cultural and economic differences impact children as early as their first year on a cognitive and thus neurological level. When she isn't psychoanalyzing her friends and family, Madison enjoys watching The Crown, eating any spicy food imaginable, and most importantly preparing for BosMUN 18!
kavya verma, Outreach Director
Kavya Verma is a junior in the Pardee School of Global Studies and the College of Arts & Sciences studying International Relations and Political Science. The only thing Kavya does more than consume excessive amounts of caffeine and read politico.eu so often that she feels like Angela Merkel is basically a personal friend (she sadly is not) is think of exciting opportunities in the field of international relations to introduce BosMUN XVIII delegates to! Kavya is absolutely thrilled to serve as Outreach Director for what is sure to be the most successful BosMUN yet. She can’t wait to meet all of the amazing delegates as she runs around the Marriott, quoting The Office, with an iced coffee permanently in hand.
kaitlyn cyprian, Operations Director
Kaitlyn is currently a senior at Boston University, majoring in linguistics with minors in Spanish and International Relations. She loves language and had the amazing opportunity last spring to study abroad in Tokyo! When she's in Boston, you can probably find her working as a service manager at Chipotle, or anywhere else on campus talking about how she works at Chipotle. Kaitlyn is also involved in Delta Phi Epsilon, Boston University's foreign service fraternity. BosMUN XVIII will be Kaitlyn's last conference as an undergrad and she's looking forward to making it the best one yet. She's looking forward to meeting you all!
Julia mullert, Technical Director
Julia is a sophomore at Boston University studying International Relations. She attended BosMUN as a delegate for all four years of high school, and is thrilled to be on the other side of this amazing conference. She currently serves as Marketing Director for the BU International Affairs Association, and is an avid member of the MUN Travel Team and International Relations Review. She is also the Generation Action Grant Manager for Students for Reproductive Freedom at BU, and works at My Life My Choice, an anti-human trafficking agency located in Boston. Outside school, you can find her dabbling in writing, photography, and podcasting (listen to The Petty Zoo on iTunes!). She cannot wait for BosMUN XVIII, and is certain that it’s going to be the best conference yet!

Nathan hopes and expects that this will be a great conference, and looks forward to meeting you all in February!
neha iyer, Under Secretary-General of ECOSOC
Neha is a junior at Boston University, studying Business Administration and concentrating in Accounting and Information Systems. Although originally from Mumbai, she moved to Singapore and the Philippines and hasn't figured out what made her leave the warmth for Boston. Neha has been involved in the International Affairs Association (BUIAA) since the start of her freshman year, has staffed every conference to date and serves as the Treasurer of BUIAA. When she is not doing MUN, reading about the Mughals or crying over balance sheets, Neha can be found eating hummus, drinking coffee or watching Netflix. Her all time favorite shows are Black Mirror, Billions and Designated Survivor. She also has a vine for every situation and loves a good compilation. More than anything else, she's very excited to serve as your USG of ECOSOCs this year!
rachel petherbridge, Under Secretary-General of Specialized
Rachel is a senior studying Biomedical Engineering, with a double minor in Biology and Mathematics. Originally from Garner, North Carolina, she was relieved to move to Boston to soak up the northeastern winters. She attended two Model UN conferences her senior year of high school where she became hooked. She has since staffed almost every MUN conference BU hosts since her freshman year! At Boston University, she works long hours conducting research in mammalian synthetic biology in the Khalil Lab, and remains actively involved in the Boston University International Affairs Association as a Staff Writer for the IR Review, a Chair for BarMUN (BU’s college conference) and as USG of Specialized Committees for BosMUN XVIII! When she’s not crying over a failed experiment, you can find her crying over a different failed experiment, watching Parks and Rec obsessively on Netflix, or helping run a biotech startup. She’s excited to make BosMUN XVIII the best one yet!
noah riley, Under Secretary-General of Crisis
Noah is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences/Pardee School of Global Studies and Kilachand Honors College where he is majoring in International Relations and Economics (classic). Noah has been a MUNer since his days at Belmont High School, and due to his “weird” obsession with the activity, will be participating in his 6th BosMUN (between high school and college) this year. Besides his involvement in BUIAA (BU International Affairs Organization), Noah plays club baseball, is an obnoxious Boston sports fanatic, and is much too sarcastic for his own good. There is likely no quality TV series he has not binge-watched. Noah hopes to go into government but also wants to make money, so it looks like he'll have some tough decisions to make in the future. Aside from all this, he is ecstatic to be serving as the Under-Secretary General of Crisis for BosMUN XVII and is looking forward to making this the best conference experience in Model UN history.
