Dia Jain

Secretary-General

Dia (she/her) is a junior on the pre-med track majoring in Neuroscience and Philosophy with a minor in Data Science. Originally from Edina, Minnesota, the unique weather of Boston is nothing new to Dia. At Boston University, she is a member of the collegiate Model UN team, MUN@BU, works at a Neurobiology Research Lab at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine (#womeninstem), and is the Vice President for the South Asian Student Alliance. She has been involved in Model UN ever since her freshman year of high school and continues to find inspiration in the community it fosters. Previously at BosMUN, she served as the chair for the Sustainable Innovation form at BosMUN XXIII and the Chief of Staff for BosMUN XXIV. When Dia has free time (which is rare), you can find her listening to music and curating playlists, “locked in” at the library, binge watching “How I Met Your Mother”, and going on long walks around the city. Dia is beyond excited to serve as your Secretary-General for BosMUN XXV and can’t wait to see you all next February!

Malena Yehya

Director-General of External Affairs

Hailing from Orange County, California, Malena (she/her) is pursuing a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with minors in Public Health and Classical Civilizations. Malena participated in parliamentary debate throughout middle school and most of high school, and has loved any opportunity to argue ever since, which led her to pursue Model UN in college. Since joining Boston University's Model UN team (MUN@BU), Malena has chaired COP28 at BosMUN XXIII and served as the USG of ECOSOCs for BosMUN XXIV. Outside of Model UN, Malena volunteers for Hearts for Homeless, is involved in BU's Student Government as part of the Advocacy Team, and does research in BU's Chemistry Department. In her spare time, Malena enjoys reading, knitting, and binge-watching "Derry Girls," which may be one of the greatest shows ever created.

Ajay Raman

Director-General of Internal Affairs

Ajay Raman (he/his) is a student from Walpole, Massachusetts, pursuing a bachelor's in economics and mathematics, a minor in data science, and a master's in economics in the class of 2026. In addition to his role as the Director General of Internal Affairs for BosMUN XXV, he was also the Director of Delegate Affairs for BosMUN XXIV, a Senior Editor of Boston University's Undergraduate Economics Journal, and the Treasurer of Boston University's International Affairs Association. He also enjoys researching macroeconomics and public finance, specifically forecasting inflation rates and understanding the adequacy of life insurance. Outside of academics, Ajay is interested in exploring new cuisines and staying active through basketball, soccer, and tennis.

Eleez Omar

Director of Delegate Affairs

Eleez (she/her) is a rising junior majoring in International Relations with a minor in Environmental Analysis & Policy. A third culture kid with roots in the Maldives and Syria, her international upbringing sparked a passion for global affairs. She’s been involved with BUIAA since her freshman year, currently serving on the Executive Board of Students for the UN. Eleez’s Model UN experience began in high school and grew at BU, where she was a senior staffer for BosMUN XXIV and a crisis staffer for BarMUN XVII. Outside of MUN, Eleez is an editor for the International Relations Review and the Boston University Journal of History as well as a writer for the Boston Political Review. In her free time, Eleez enjoys playing volleyball with her intramural team, making playlists, diving and surfing!

Avani Mehra

Director of Finance

Avani Mehra (she/her) is a senior studying Business Administration with a concentration in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. From Mamaroneck, NY, Avani was not involved in Model UN until she was a Crisis Staffer for BarMUN XV. She also staffed BosMUN XXII as a photographer, BosMUN XXIII in the Secretariat as the Chief Information Director, and BosMUN XXIV as the Director of Operations. At Boston University, Avani is an active member of the BU Bands. She was in the Color Guard, but is currently in the Drumline playing auxiliary percussion. She also serves as the Student Office Worker and Recruitment Manager. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games, baking and reading.

Usra Aslam

Director of Conference Affairs

Usra is a rising sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences and hails from the great state of New Jersey. Although very indecisive about her major (which will probably be a combination of Econ, English, and International Relations), Usra is sure about her love for Model UN! She has been competing as a delegate since her freshman year of high school, and is one of MUN@BU’s incoming Head Delegates. She has also staffed both BarMUN and BosMUN as a Crisis Staffer and Crisis Director, and is so excited to join secretariat as Conference Affairs Director this year. Outside of Model UN you can find her singing her heart out as Music Director of Chordially Yours Acapella at BU, partaking in BU Student Government as a CAS Senator, reading, listening to Taylor Swift, or binge watching Bollywood movies. She can’t wait for an awesome 25th BosMUN!

Patrio Marcus

Director of Operations

Rio (he/him) is a rising senior from Portsmouth, New Hampshire studying Mathematics at Boston University. After leading his high school’s Model United Nations team for two years, Rio has competed in various conferences as a member of Boston University’s MUN Team, MUN@BU, and served as Under-Secretary-General of Specialized Committees for BosMUN XXIV. Outside of MUN, he enjoys biking, trying new restaurants around Boston, and watching B movies with his friends. An avid fan of Pink Floyd and a New England sports enthusiast, Rio is thankful to have made many meaningful connections at BU and looks forward to seeing delegates making similar connections at BosMUN!

Ivy Gomes

Director of Media and Technology

Ivy Gomes (she/her) is a junior at Boston University studying Marketing and Business Analytics with a minor in Political Science. She is passionate about using digital strategy to advance global advocacy and socioeconomic equity. Ivy currently serves as a North Atlantic Coalition Leader with Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation initiative, where she leads regional campaigns and designs content strategies to promote gender equity. She is also an intern for the United Nations Association of Greater Boston (UNAGB) and supports Model UN programming and civic education initiatives for local youth. On campus, Ivy is the Director of Marketing for BU’s South Asian Student Association and actively involved in the BU Guerrilla Marketing Society.

Laiba Zaib

Chief of Staff

Laiba (she/her) is a sophomore pursuing Human Physiology with a minor in Public Health on the pre-med track. She's currently conducting research at Boston University's School of Public Health, furthering her passions for health equity and prevention. Her journey with Model UN began in 8th grade and became a defining part of her high school experience. She was the president of her high school Model UN team and now continues her MUN journey at BU as part of the BosMUN Secretariat. She previously served as the chair of the Sustainable Innovation Forum at BosMUN XXIV. Outside of the committee room, you can find her wandering through art museums, scouting out the best bites in Boston, and listening to artists like Saint Levant and Sonder.

Joseph Masterson

Under-Secretary-General of General assemblies

Joseph Masterson (he/him) is a rising junior studying Political Science in the Pre-Law Track.  Joseph is from the North Shore of Massachusetts and participated in Model UN all four years of high school, including BosMUN XX and BosMUN XXII. After transferring to BU, Joseph immediately returned to BosMUN and chaired the 4th Committee of the General Assembly at BosMUN XXIV. In addition, Joseph enjoys competing on BU's competitive MUN team and serving as vice president of BU's collegiate conference, BarMUN. Outside of MUN, Joseph enjoys swimming, skiing, and playing D&D, and is a member of BU's board game club. He is also a die-hard Celtics fan and volunteers for political fundraisers in his spare time. Joseph is excited to serve as USG of General Assemblies this year and hopes to inspire the same love for Model UN in the delegates that he found during his time at BosMUN.

Kaitlin Tan

Under-Secretary-General of ECOSOC

Kaitlin (she/her) is a sophomore from Winchester, Massachusetts majoring in Economics on the Pre-Law Track. Her MUN journey started in her freshman year of high school, where she represented Australia at the UNHCR during BosMUN XX, and since then she has stayed heavily involved in MUN, attending conferences like NHSMUN, NAIMUN, and more. After serving as Vice Chair of UNDP during BosMUN XXIV, Kaitlin is super excited to serve as the USG of ECOSOCs at this year's BosMUN! Outside of MUN, Kaitlin is the Nationals Captain of the Club Tennis Team and a member of the Pre-Law Society’s Legal Writing and Research Committee. Additionally, she also enjoys watching TV, playing word games (she has over 5000 word hunt wins on game pigeon!), and baking with friends. Kaitlin is beyond excited to oversee this year's ECOSOCs and cannot wait to meet everyone to spread the BosMUN love!

Hunter Stark

Under-Secretary-General of Specialized

Hunter Stark (he/him) is a rising sophomore majoring in Political Science. Hunter hails from Agawam, Massachusetts, and will not hesitate to tell you all about the wonders that Western Mass does for everyone else, giving you all basketball, volleyball, Emily Dickinson, Dr. Seuss, W.E.B. Du Bois, free public schools, the Constitution, and the very reservoir water you have here in Boston. When he's not taking the Mass Pike home, Hunter enjoys reading, skiing, Frisbee golfing, watching Godzilla movies, and listening to hip hop and girl pop. Having previously chaired BosMUN, Hunter is beyond excited to serve as your Under-Secretary General of Specialized Committees for BosMUN XXV!

Cooper McCreary

Under-Secretary-General of Crisis

Cooper (he/him) is a member of Boston University's class of 2028, majoring in Business Administration and International Relations. Originally from the Bay Area California, but has since come to BU from Las Vegas Nevada. MUN has been a staple for Cooper since he joined his high school team in his Sophomore year of high school. Cooper is a member of BU's travel Model UN team, and is a part of the triathlon club. In his spare time you can find Cooper travelling around, watching TV, and can always find him at BU hockey games either as a loud member of the DogPound student section or broadcasting games live on radio. Cooper cannot wait to hear about what fun actions are taken or what groundbreaking world changes are laid out in this year's crisis committee’s.
