Letter from the Secretary-General
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
I am thrilled to welcome you all to the twenty-fifth iteration of the Boston University Model United Nations Conference! My name is Dia Jain, and I am honored to serve as your Secretary-General for BosMUN XXV. On behalf of my Secretariat and myself, I look forward to celebrating BosMUN’s Silver Jubilee with you at the Boston Marriott Copley Place and the Sheraton Boston Hotel from February 6-8th, 2026.
I began my Model UN journey during high school, where I had the unique opportunity to compete in BosMUN as a delegate! Now, I am a proud member of MUN@BU, Boston University’s nationally acclaimed collegiate Model UN team. My experiences chairing, staffing, and competing at conferences have been invaluable in shaping my passion for educating and mentoring others. Not to mention the professional and personal development I have gained as a writer, speaker, and researcher. Above all, the friendships and community I have found through Model UN — and through BosMUN — have been the most meaningful part of my journey. I hope that every delegate at BosMUN finds the same sense of belonging and growth that I did, whether its through a moment of confidence, a meaningful conversation, or a new way of looking at the world. More than anything, I hope this weekend reminds them that leadership can take many forms, and that their voice has power in every room they enter.
BosMUN XXV welcomes all! First and foremost, BosMUN prides itself on being a training conference, and whether you are experienced or brand new to Model UN, you will leave BosMUN having grown as a speaker, thinker, and collaborator. Our goal is to teach more than Model UN by fostering an environment that encourages delegates to apply the skills they learn in committee. With this year marking our Silver Jubilee, I am proud to announce a multitude of new initiatives including a free Model UN training program pre-conference, the BosMUN Young Diplomat Award where one delegate will get the chance to be published in the Library of Congress, and the BosMUN Grant which provides schools with financial barriers an opportunity to engage in global education at BosMUN!
I want to extend my sincere thanks to each and every one of you. Delegates and advisors are the heart of BosMUN and without each and every one you, this conference would be nothing more than a group of college students in suits. Thank you for being part of this special milestone. I can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.
Warmly,
Dia Jain
Secretary-General
